Sam Johnson – Director and Head of Sales

As the Managing Director of APAC Ingredients, I oversee the success of all departments, providing guidance and leadership to our dedicated team. With over 11 years of experience in the food industry and a strong background in operations, I thrive on building relationships with our customers and helping them achieve their DIFOTTS (Delivered In Full, On Time, To Spec) targets.

When I first started APAC Ingredients, my focus was primarily on sales and front-end operations. Now, as we’ve grown, I enjoy the role even more, leading a talented team and sharing the knowledge I’ve gained along the way. Every day, this feels more natural, and I’m always excited about the opportunities ahead.

Outside of work, I’m passionate about the outdoors. Whether it’s fishing in the stunning Marlborough Sounds or tramping with my family, nature is where I recharge. Music is also a big part of my life, and I love playing instruments and singing whenever I get the chance.

Nat Sutton – Operations Manager

I joined APAC in June 2024 and have loved every minute of it. Whilst my background has been heavily tourism and customer service based, the change of environment has been a welcome one. I am learning new things every day and still using some of my customer service skills to do my job well. The APAC environment is certainly one that allows me to explore my full potential. 

When I’m not at work you will find me, swimming, biking or running somewhere, as I enjoy tackling Ironman triathlons for fun. Actually some of the values I use for training and racing come in very useful in my working life so I’m a very motivated individual.

With a strong background in the food industry, I bring a strategic approach to APAC Ingredients, helping drive innovation and ensuring we stay ahead of market trends. My focus is on delivering high-quality ingredient solutions that align with the evolving needs of our customers. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and exploring new ways to challenge myself, whether it's through business ventures or outdoor adventures. Balancing professional growth with personal fulfillment is important to me, and I’m always looking for ways to make a positive impact both in and out of the workplace.

Mark Johnson – Director

As a director of APAC Ingredients I enjoy working with the team to offer support and advice and watch the great results happen. Growing up in horticulture and entering the food business in 1986, it has been a great journey with a lot of learnings along the way to share. I believe in having a great team around you that can do things better than I can myself and coupled with this they show the same passion to sincerely look after customers are the secrets to the success of not only our businesses but that of our customers also. 

Outside of work I enjoy spending time with the family and getting out on the farm breathing the fresh air and looking after the animals.
